a little bit about Terry
Terry L. Cyrus, a seasoned entertainment and marketing professional, began his career as a manager in the music industry. His prowess led him to become a sought-after consultant within the entertainment business. He worked with such music moguls as Walter Yetnikoff, the former CEO of CBS Records, now known as Sony Music Entertainment.
In 2004, Mr. Cyrus launched the entertainment and multicultural marketing company, Outspoken Media Group whose clients include AMC Networks, Comcast, Entertainment One and HBO. He spearheaded marketing campaigns for various television projects such as the Showtime one-hour comedy special, Bill Bellamy: Crazy Sexy Dirty. In 2016, he founded the HBCU Cinema Experience, which offers advance screenings of films and television programming at various Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Mr. Cyrus created this program to provide a pathway into film and television that didn’t exist when he was an HBCU student.
In 2017, he was appointed the Executive Producer of Diversity Content & Partnerships at Celebrity Page TV, a nationally syndicated entertainment news program. Mr. Cyrus interviewed Hollywood stars such as Tyrese Gibson, Cynthia Erivo, Meagan Good, among others. He guided diversity content for the television show and spearheaded partnerships with companies such as Music Choice, producing exclusive segments that featured superstars including Bruno Mars, Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and Lenny Kravitz. Furthermore, he secured media credentials and led production at tentpole events including NFL Honors, ESSENCE Festival of Culture, American Black Film Festival and Urbanworld Film Festival.
In 2023, Mr. Cyrus created a weekly podcast dedicated to amplifying Black Excellence entitled Prepare For Takeoff. The featured guests have included Lawyer and President & CEO of Benedict College, Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis; CEO of FUBU RADIO & Owner/Co-Founder/VP of FUBU The Collection, Dr. Keith C. Perrin, Jr.; Vice President of Development & Original Production at We TV / ALLBLK (AMC Networks), Ashley McFarlin; former Chief Human Resources Officer at NASCAR, John Ferguson; Multi-Emmy and NAACP Image Award-Winning TV Producer, Money Making Conversations Master Class Host, Founder & CEO of 3815 Media, Inc., Rushion McDonald.
